MASSAGE 4 AGING CLIENTS-7 CEs
Taught by Dana Watson, LMT
NCBTMB Provider # 1544
Modify your massage skills to meet the demands of the largest-growing client demographics.
Adjusting our massage skills TO accommodate the elder client, while ensuring their comfort, is key to mastering the art of massage for the senior community.
Therapists will gain a basic understanding of common medical conditions affecting the boomer and geriatric populations, safe positioning practices on the table, proper body mechanics, and additional infection controls.
We also explore how to safely acclimate massage to elder clients in non-traditional settings. Therapists will learn to utilize beds, chairs, and recliners to provide safe and comfortable massage for seniors in any location. These practices are key to continue to serve our aging clients, as they may become unable to seek massage outside the home due to limited health, mobility, or lack of transportation.
